순대국밥 Sundaegukbab

I’m reluctant to say this is the best Korean meal I’ve had because I still have so many more to try, but the fact that I’ve thought about saying that should indicate my love for this dish.

It was actually a bit of an adventure to get this meal. We just happened past the restaurant in Jenoju and joined the small cue for lunch. I was sold on the fact that I was told this was a famous restaurant. The fact it was packed and had a line was testament to the tasty treats inside. We got in fairly quickly and ordered their signature dish 순대국밥 (Sundaegukbab).

It was the most delicious soup. Hearty and packed with various cuts of pork meat and a few slices of an amazing blood sausage. Now I’ve had the blood sausage before and it has been okay at best in the past but now this was something special. The sides were great too. It really was something special. I found out halfway through that the various cuts of meat that were very chewy and had different textures were infact meat from the head/face of the pig. This did absolutely nothing to deter me from my meal and I polished off the entire thing.

I would get this meal again in a heartbeat. Thoroughly recommend.
